Forum: etree Subject: gd removal: could it be because of gdlive??

gdlive was around before archive came along and the band has always supported the gdlive site. could it be that the gdlive site is getting less and less traffic so the dead decided to go back to allowing only them to host shows?
just a thought....

example is widespread panic who doesnt allow shows to be seeded here but do allow them to be seeded on another site.
so its possible that the dead are only banning shows from this site ?
i would hope and think that there will still be shows avail to download from gdlive.

Good thinking. I encourage everyone to come up with their own conspiracy theories, in the absence of any official statement from the Grateful Dead.

The Archive has changed policy in the past, and has posted the correspondance that led them to. Check out the STS9 trading notes. Why now are they being so secretive?

My guess is that lawyers are involved. I doubt the GD would send a C&D, so perhaps they're not even dealing with them. Notice how they never said who asked them to stop. Perhaps the GD sold the Vault?

Anyone else care to speculate? Or better yet, anyone want to tell us the TRUTH?

I posted this earlier, seems pretty logical (even if its a short sighted decision)

In fact, we do *not* automatically post all correspondence on policy changes in the public notes sections.

It depends on the artist. Some request that we not publish it.

of course they sold the vault - and to Apple no less - it was good while it lasted - now we know the GD people are no better than Walmart. what a suck.
